"Before [the first] session, I was feeling some imposter syndrome and worried I’d be the least experienced climber there (and probably one of the oldest). Instead, I found a genuinely welcoming and supportive community. Seeing people with different backgrounds, climbing styles, abilities, and experience levels reminded me that there isn’t one “right” way to climb. I left feeling more confident trusting my own movement and more comfortable taking up space as a learner. I also appreciated the emphasis on stewardship and viewing the land as more than just a place to recreate."

"BIPOC Rocks brought together a group of people from various backgrounds who would not necessarily have access or resources to otherwise participate. The program creates a low barrier, approachable community for outdoor rock climbing. I would not really know otherwise where to begin to learn these skills or how to pursue this interest. It was also really positive to meet people we would not necessarily have met otherwise and everyone was very friendly and open to being there and working together as a team. The instructors/guides and Julia were very supportive and I felt like everyone who attended had a postive attitude!"

________
"Climbing outdoors isn't the most accessible sport, so I'm thankful BIPOC rocks created a safe, accessible, and beginner friendly opportunity to learn. I also really loved the instruction on crack climbing. Technically, it would've been nice to learn how to build top rope anchors so that participants are better equipped to sport climb."

"I loved it - I've been raving about how great my session has been to anyone with ears since. I'm really excited that a community like this exists and I can't wait to see it flourish! Representation and belonging are such incredibly important elements that many BIPOC folks don't get to experience and I'm so happy that this group aims to change that!"

________
It's motivating to see BIPOC folks seeking to bridge the disparities in this sport, with a desire to share their experience and create safe, supportive spaces. I picked up great tips, met some lovely peeps, received lots of encouragement - and even a few much-needed pushes to keep going. I truly believe this experience will bring me closer to the sport again, and honestly, I couldn't have asked for more from a sunny Sunday

________
A great course for bridging the gap between indoor climbers and climbers who have taken a break and getting back to climbing. Instructors were inclusive and had a very approachable environment for asking questions.

________
"Silver Senders is a truly unique program that fills a much-needed gap for women over 40 entering the outdoor climbing world. The coaching was both skilled and supportive, creating a space where we could learn essential techniques while also feeling seen, heard, and encouraged. More than just instruction, this course offered a sense of belonging that can be hard to find elsewhere."

________
"The way you curated a space specifically for women and nonbinary folks stepping into
the more seasoned chapters of life felt like it was made just for me, too perfect to pass up. I was genuinely nervous going in, but your calm, thoughtful, and supportive teaching style put all my anxieties to rest almost instantly.
Fostering a really warm, welcoming environment. I’ll be forever grateful to you both for the experience. I learnt so much and loved every minute of it!"

________
"I am leaving more confident to join anyone who invites me to climb outside because now, instead of just climbing, I will be able to contribute to build anchors, to clean. If anything, I wish we had more time! But the pace was wonderful, it allowed myself to fully understand the systems so I am able to slowly replicate them.
You’ve created a wonderful space for learning, inclusivity and community."
